QuickProxy 2009.03.28 Known Bug
It appears in my haste to push out the new version, I overlooked an issue in the testing process with the “Open Browser Proxy Settings” button that was added. As this opens a Firefox preferences window, I glossed over this during testing, and assumed that it worked the same as it does in Firefox, although due to a few reports I’m getting from users, and testing done myself, it appears that editing information in the window created doesn’t get saved. I’m currently working on resolving this issue, and I hope to have a resolution to this quickly, but as it’s a native Firefox window I may need to just re-create the entire preferences screen.
Thank you all for the feedback I’ve received on the extension so far. Apart from these annoying bugs that somehow keep finding their way in it’s been a very positive experience for me.
I found another problem with this release: even if I set in the options that on browser launch the proxy must be off, always when I close firefox whit the proxy on the next time I open the browser QuickProxy asks the password and the icon is green.

i confirm the problem described by Elia – whatever i set – On, Off etc – the proxy is always On after restarting Ff. And it’s always On after i uninstalled Qp which is a real bummer…
Unfortunately I’m not sure what would cause to occur after you have removed QuickProxy, as the only files that modify the proxy settings should be removed correctly, and shouldn’t run without the extension. I am investigating the issue with the proxy turning on all the time after restarting, and hope to have this corrected with the next compatibility release.

Thanks for the reports. I’m currently looking into this issue and hope to have a fix to it along with the 3.5b4 compatibility update.
3.5 Release candidate is available now. Can you please update this awesome plugin?
A release for the latest Firefox is currently in internal testing due to the bugs that were revealed in the previous release. It’s close to complete, and hopefully will be submitted shortly.

Wanted to upgrade to officially released 3é5 but I’ve been warend this plugin would not work so there am I. Glad to see it’s been working on.
Does ‘internal testing’ mean it was sent to Mozilla and it waiting approval or YOU are doing the internal testing?
I hope it will be available this week…
Thank you for this little plugin. FF should have come with somthing similar builtin. I don’t know why they ignored this.
By internal testing I mean among the people that have worked on the project and a couple of avid users of the extension. Due to the bugs in the previous release I didn’t want to repeat the mistakes there, and we are ironing out the last known issue at the moment.
i use firefox 3.5
and need a version of “quick proxy” for use on it
